This course translates advanced aligner biomechanics into a repeatable clinical pathway for the most challenging cases: Class II and III discrepancies, open and deep bites, transverse deficiency, asymmetries, severe crowding, and compromised periodontia. Attendees will learn to design force systems that control roots and torque, stage movements to minimize round-tripping, and protect anchorage to achieve stable, esthetic finishes. The day integrates facial analysis, diagnostics, periodontal considerations, and risk management to reduce the need for surgery or extractions when clinically sound. Through protocol checklists, live planning, and outcome audits, participants will leave with measurable finishing standards and a streamlined team workflow.
Objectives:
Design force systems that control torque, root inclination, and anchorage while avoiding unwanted side effects.
Execute vertical control strategies for open bite and deep bite, including posterior intrusion (TADs).
Plan transverse correction with controlled expansion and arch coordination while protecting periodontal tissues.
Manage sagittal discrepancies (Class II and III) with elastics, distalization, and sequential movements.

Dr. Paul Y. Lee, originally from Los Angeles, CA, earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis, and his D.M.D. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, alongside Dr. Gannon.
Dr. Lee practices full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery with an emphasis on hard and soft tissue site development, dental implant rehabilitation, and surgical orthodontics. He holds hospital privileges at Texas Health Resources in Plano. His research interests include tissue-engineered bone grafting, treatment of the atrophic jaw, and surgically facilitated orthodontic treatment. He lives in Plano with his wife, Claire, and their three children.
