Anterior Esthetics: Tissue Training, Immediate Loading vs. Delayed Protocols and Restorative Material Choices.
As clinicians, you need to educate your patients on the benefit of a single implant vs a bridge. The decision to cement or screw retain a crown, is one you make as long as the patient has no preference. By making an informed decision, treatment planning these cases can be accomplished and the desired outcome can be achieved.
At the end of the program,

• Describe the biological principles that drive optimal results in the aesthetic zone
• Recognize and understand the long term effects of decisions regarding implants vs. conventional dentistry
• Understand the pros and cons of cement retained and screw retained single implant restorations

Dental Implant Complications, Preventions and Management
Occlusion is a controversial subject in dentistry on its own, add dental implants into the mix and it becomes quite complicated. Teeth and dental implants differ in many ways. The periodontal ligament is absent around implants, teeth drift and shift with craniofacial change while dental implants remain stationary. Strategies must be in place to accommodate these differences.
At the end of the program,
the participant should be able to:
• To recognize and understand occlusion as it relates to the dental implant patient
• To learn how to prevent complications related to faulty occlusion
• To learn how to maintain a patient after dental implant therapy is completed
Our Speakers
Paulino Castellon
DDS, Prosthodontist
Dr. Castellon, a native of Nicaragua, obtained his dental degree at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico in 1996. He then completed a three-year Post-Graduate Prosthodontic program at the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in July 2000. He subsequently completed a one-year Fellowship program at LSU School of Dentistry in Advanced Implant and Aesthetic dentistry.
In 2001 Dr. Castellon joined the Department of Prosthodontics at LSU and in 2005 he became an Associate Professor with Tenure in the Department of Prosthodontics where he was Director of the Implant Clinic and Undergraduate Dental Implant Curriculum at LSU School of Dentistry. In 2010, he relocated to Dallas to join Dr Buskin at Dallas Prosthodontics.
Dr. Castellon is passionate about Prosthodontics, including Complete and Partial Dentures, Crown and Bridge, treatment of Cosmetic and Aesthetic problems via veneers, all-ceramic restorations and bleaching. Dr. Castellon uses multiple techniques to restore and rehabilitate dental implants. He has published and lectured all over the country on Dental Implants and Prosthodontics.
Dr. Castellon holds memberships in several professional organizations including the American College of Prosthodontics, The Academy of Osseointegration, The American Dental Association, The Texas Dental Association, and the Dallas County Dental Society.
John Gannon
DDS
Dr. John W. Gannon, originally from Albuquerque, NM, earned his degree in industrial engineering from New Mexico State University before obtaining his D.D.S. from the University of California, San Francisco. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, training alongside Dr. Lee.
Dr. Gannon serves as an adjunct professor at A.T. Still University in Phoenix, AZ, and holds hospital privileges at Texas Health and Baylor hospitals. He practices full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery, with a focus on orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) procedures, and sleep apnea surgeries. His research interests include distraction osteogenesis for correcting maxillary transverse discrepancies and developing treatment protocols for TMJ total joint replacement.
He currently resides in Dallas with his wife, Alexya.

Dr. Paul Lee, born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, attended the University of California, Davis and graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Neurobiology. He received his dental degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
While attending UNLV, he was the president of the American Student Dental Association and was heavily involved with community outreach for veterans, children and homeless teens. He was awarded with the Oral and Maxillofacial Dental Student Award, which recognizes outstanding performance in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Miami School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital. He has hospital privileges at Texas Health. Dr. Lee’s clinical interests include dental implants, wisdom teeth extraction, facial trauma, bone grafting, and corrective jaw surgery.
He lives in Plano with his wife, Claire, and their three children.
Steven Sherry
DDS, MD, FACS
Dr. Steven D. Sherry, a New York native, began his education at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. He earned his D.D.S. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his M.D. from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his general surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital, followed by a fellowship in cosmetic surgery at Willow Bend Cosmetic Surgery Center in Plano.
Dr. Sherry currently serves as an adjunct professor at A.T. Still University in Phoenix, AZ, and holds hospital privileges at Texas Health and Baylor hospitals. Dr. Paul Y. Lee, originally from Los Angeles, CA, earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis, and his D.M.D. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, alongside Dr. Gannon.
Dr. Lee practices full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery with an emphasis on hard and soft tissue site development, dental implant rehabilitation, and surgical orthodontics.
