Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr. Sherry earned his dental degree from State University of New York at Stony Brook, his medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Parkland Hospital and The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in cosmetic surgery at Willow Bend Cosmetic Surgery Center in Plano, TX. Dr. Sherry is currently in fulltime private practice in Dallas, Texas where he also lives with his family.

Dr. Gannon earned his dental degree from the University of California San Francisco and trained oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami Florida. There he trained under Dr. Robert Marx, the leading internationally recognized expert in bone biology, bone grafting and pathology. Dr. Gannon’s clinical interests include wisdom teeth management, dental implants, bone grafting, corrective jaw surgery, obstructive sleep apnea, facial trauma, and nerve repair surgery. After completion of his residency, he moved to Dallas, Texas where he is currently in fulltime private practice.

Orthognathic Surgery… with Aligners?!

Course Description:

Orthognathic surgery with aligners is a trend that is gaining momentum, but still has a lot of questions surrounding the topic. Why would one wish to pursue this route, if braces work just fine? Is the combination of aligners and surgery predictable for the patient? What about the finishes, “clearly” they can’t be as good as braces? Join us as we explore the benefits, detriments, and overall journey of treating the orthognathic surgical patient with clear aligners.

Dr. Maz Moshiri has a private family practice in St. Louis, MO. He is the co-founder of the Aligner Intensive Fellowship, an online residency that has educated nearly five thousand orthodontists worldwide on the proper treatment planning and use of clear aligners. Additionally, he has been a faculty member for Align Technology since 2013. Currently, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the orthodontic residency program at the Center for Advanced Dental Education at Saint Louis University, with a focus on clear aligners. He serves on the clinical advisory boards of Orthodontic Partners, LightForce Orthodontics, and is an Associate Editor for the Voice of an Expert column for the AJODO Clinical Companion. Dr. Moshiri is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics as well as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.

Dr. Alexander Waldman is a board certified orthodontist who is passionate about helping patients of all ages achieve a beautiful smile and healthy bite. Dr. Waldman received his undergraduate and dental degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, and completed his clinical orthodontic training and Masters of Medical Science degree from Harvard University. Dr. Waldman is the founder of Waldman Orthodontics in Beverly Hills, CA, in which he combines the latest digital advancements in orthodontics with evidenced-based practice. Waldman Orthodontics specializes in digital orthodontics, interdisciplinary and surgical care, as well as routine treatment for children and adults. In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Waldman is an educator, author, and advisor to multiple start-ups in the orthodontic and dental industries. Dr. Waldman is married to Talya and has three daughters.
